Racism: The Reality We Created

Racism exists everywhere — no matter where you live, what your skin color is, what food you eat, or what language you speak. People like to believe it’s gone, but the truth is, it never really disappears. It just changes its form.

The real reason racism began is simple — it’s part of human nature. Humans have always wanted to feel superior to someone else. When they can’t find a reason to prove they’re better, they create one — and that’s where racism is born.

Racism isn’t always loud. It’s not just hate speech or violence. Sometimes, it’s silent — in a look, in a joke, in the way someone is treated differently without a reason. It hides behind words like “preference,” “culture,” or “just being honest.”

It doesn’t depend on which country you’re in — it depends on the situation.

In one place, it’s about skin color.

In another, it’s about religion or language.

Somewhere else, it’s about status or where you come from.

But no matter the reason, it all comes from the same thought — “I am better than you.”

If we really want to end racism, we have to start by accepting that it still exists — even inside us, in small, unspoken ways. The first step isn’t blaming others. It’s realizing where we ourselves draw lines between people.

The world won’t change overnight. But awareness is where change begins.
